Maddy began her career in advertising agencies Ogilvy and BBH and then worked in marketing at the Arts Council and English National Opera, and was a senior consultant at AEA consulting and Stimulating World Research before setting up Lucid. She has been described as a ‘maestra’ with groups of people and is appreciated for her passion and commitment as well as the clarity of her strategic thinking, insight and expression.
Kay began her career at The Foreign Office and Procter & Gamble before moving into insight at One World and Stimulating World. She then moved client-side and was Head of Insight and Head of Marketing at Allied Domecq and Pernod Ricard respectively, before joining Lucid. She possesses real wisdom, clarity, pragmatism and marketing nous, speaks fluent French and also leads our international work.
Catherine began her career in insight at TNS and Team Research Consultancy before moving into advertising planning at Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper (HAVAS) and strategy at retail consultancy 20/20. She then returned to insight, working independently and with Lucid, then as Insight Director at Brand Dynamics, before re-joining Lucid. She is an insightful, sharp thinker who loves to help transform brands with fresh thinking and is Lucid’s digital lead.
Dr Nick Gadsby
Associate (Semiotics & Culture)
Nick is a highly experienced and expert Commercial Semiotician and Cultural Analyst, lecturer in Cultural Anthropology at UCL and founder of semiotics and brand strategy agency, The Answer. He works with Lucid using a seamless, fully-joined-up ‘Double Helix’ approach to provide combined qualitative insight and semiotic / cultural analysis that is clear, strategic and actionable in a business context – particularly useful for projects with strong visual dimension.
Joanna is Operations Director of Lucid. Unbelievably efficient and unflappable, she manages all the fieldwork and makes sure the office runs smoothly. Joanna worked with Maddy and Kay at Stimulating World Research before joining Lucid.
